A GRACIOUS LADY

      In Memory

A GRACIOUS LADY
She was a gracious Southern Lady
With a soft, Southern accent - you could hear it.
Fair of face and a quiet inner spirit.
She lived here among us for many years.
We shared each other's joys and shared each other's tears.
She was loyal to friends and family, as any of us will say,
And faithful to God from youth to her departure the other day.
She was kind and thoughtful, more than willing to share.
Quick to pick up when others were having a care.
She created and sent countless email greetings and cards.
Many burdens were lightened by her encouraging words.
She was a hard worker, sober minded, but with a gentle wit.
A good sport, cheery and loved to tease a bit.
Her knowledge of the Scripture was evident and plain.
She stood up for the truth, again and again.
She was open minded but firm in standing for right,
Eager to do good wherever she might.
Physical pain and disappointments she endured with hope,
Like Job, she trusted God to help her cope.
Now she has gone to rest from this world and its sorrows,
Taken by angels to Abraham's bosom where there are no tomorrows.
In heaven we hope to meet this beautiful lady again, you see.
I'm sure you know by now I'm speaking of our sister in Christ -
our sister Minnie Lee Stout MINNIE LEE STOUT.
